The "Abyss 2.0" Project

I had the foresight to video the process of crafting this ambitious costume. The basic idea was just the silhouette of this creature and how terrifying it would look if it were placed on a hill, crawling around in the moonlight. I'm surprised at how easily it was for me to bring it to life.

This is my original creature idea of the Boogeyman's cousin: Abyss. In the videos you can see that the individual links in the wooden fingers move and collapse like realistic appendages. I achieved this by attaching wire from one piece to another in such way so that when I bend my fingers, all the wires and links bend in unison. The texture of the skin was made by hot glue. The outfit was an old costume jacket that I made a little dirtier. Overall this only cost me around $30 to make because the fingers were only made out of popsicle sticks, wire and hot glue. The rest was mostly extra stuff I had around.
